Gwenyth Paltrow came to the Oscars as Gandalf, apparently.

I have to wonder what fashion commentators would do if people came to the Oscars in fancy cosplay. What would they make of someone showing up on the red carpet in Inara’s gown from Shindig, or one of Arwen’s gowns from Lord of the Rings, or in Cersei’s wardrobe from Game of Thrones? 

It would be awesome if celebrities would actually do this. Or even if costume designers collectively decided to design their outfit for the Oscar ceremonies from the movie they were nominated for.

Also, this reminds me of those magazine features of “Who Wore It Better?” In this case, I say Gandalf wins.
